About the TRC

Twin Rivers Chamber of Commerce     A Message From Your Director

Twin Rivers Chamber of Commere, something old, is new again. It was the TRC that merged with the Rostraver Business Association in 2006, to form the Greater Rostraver Chamber of Commerce. Fast-forward to today, and although we have business members in Rostraver, the majority of our business partners are located in the communities throughout a four-county service area. Our service area has grown and expanded to include Perryopolis, West Newton, Star Junction, Sutersville, Elizabeth, Smithton and surrounding communities in Allegheny, Fayette, Washington and Westmoreland Counties.

From where my office is located, I am within five miles of four county lines – our home county of Westmoreland, Allegheny County five miles to my north, Fayette County five miles to my south and Washington County five miles to my west. What I notice during my daily travels to visit members in all of these directions, is that crossing “rivers” in a 20 mile radius is the norm. I cross the Monongahela River daily to visit members in Charleroi, Coal Center, and Monongahela, and cross the same river again to visit members in Forward Township, Elizabeth, Monessen, and Belle Vernon. As my travels continue, I also find myself crossing the “other river”, the Youghiogheny, to visit members in West Newton, Sutersville and Smithton. The Twin Rivers (Mon & Yough) are not identical, but run along our entire service area, which makes for a definitive geographic description.

Our membership is a group of community-minded, small business owners, independent contractors, regional and corporate companies, non-profits and individuals who are concerned about enhancing local economic development. Membership with the TRC is open to any business, regardless of location. Membership with the TRC is an effective way to communicate to consumers that your business is reputable, as consumers are 63% more likely to purchase goods and services from a member of the chamber of commerce. (Shapiro Report).

Our goal at the Twin Rivers Chamber of Commerce is to create opportunities for member prosperity by providing referrals, networking, publicity, marketing, education and resources, while maintaining personal service and contact. Just like the rivers, this organization remains constant and strong, but like the rivers, we must always be on the move to offer the best opportunities to our members. Change is needed for progress and growth, so the name and colors will change, but the foundation of the organization will remain the same.

I always welcome a trip out of the office to visit our members or to meet with prospective members, whether near or far, over, along or between the rivers.

Always Working for You,

Gina
